- Description: The workshop provides a gentle introduction to the programming language Python for data-based research. In the first part, the workshop introduces participants to the field of data science, and using the practical examples from management, marketing, and other fields shows how to explore and visualize datasets with core data science libraries in Python – pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn and scipy. In the second part, the workshop shows how to use basic supervised learning models from the Scikit-Learn library to analyze data and estimate relationships. No prior knowledge of Python or data science is required, the workshop is aimed at absolute beginners.
- About the lecturer: Marcel Tkáčik is a doctoral student at the department of management. He teaches a popular course Big data in management. His research interests lie in machine learning applications, natural language processing methods in business and management research. He used to be employed at Deloitte Advisory as a Data Scientist, Applied Economics Consultant.
